Wairakei Road School says thanks to Raj and Monisha for 10 years of outstanding service

Wairakei Road School staff celebrate their 10-year relationship with Christchurch franchise owners Raj and Monisha Prasad.

When Raj and Monisha Prasad started their CrestClean franchise back in June 2015, they couldn’t have imagined the journey they were about to embark on. One of their very first customers was Wairakei Road School and a decade later, that relationship is still going strong.

To celebrate the milestone, staff at Wairakei Road School held a morning tea for Raj and Monisha. They were gifted a beautiful bunch of flowers and a gift card from the school, along with a Certificate of Excellence and a gift card from CrestClean. The morning tea was a reminder of just how much their work is valued.

“It was amazing to see how much they’ve appreciated us for 10 years,” says Monisha.

“I want to say a big thank you to Catherine and the team for being so friendly and supportive. The morning tea made us feel very special.”

Raj is a familiar face around the school, cleaning daily and building great relationships with the staff. He regularly chats with the principal and teachers, not just about work, but about life too.

“Catherine and the team are so good to us. We’re not just there to clean the site. They treat us like family,” says Monisha.

“Our relationship is very strong,” adds Raj.

One of the things the Christchurch couple have enjoyed most over the years is watching Wairakei Road School evolve, and the people within it grow. Raj and Monisha have seen the school principal Catherine Parkes rise through the ranks, having started as a classroom teacher.

“It’s quite remarkable seeing her grow from teacher to principal and she’s doing a really great job,” Monisha says.

“She’s an amazing woman.”

It’s a special connection that goes both ways. At the morning tea, Catherine praised Raj and Monisha for their reliability, flexibility and high standard of work.

“We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to Raj and Monisha, who have been with us for 10 years.

You have been 100% dependable – not one sick day – and their work has always been completed to the highest standard. They approach every task with thoroughness, care, and quiet efficiency, and do it all without complaint. Their flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the school have not gone unnoticed.

Thank you for the pride taken in your work and the significant contribution you make each day to ensuring our school is a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for our students, staff, and whānau.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Raj and Monisha as part of our school community.
Thank you, and congratulations on this remarkable milestone.”

Owning a franchise has been a life-changing journey for Raj and Monisha, who were facing financial difficulties when they started. With Monisha having just lost her job, they saw CrestClean as an opportunity to build a more secure future. After a conversation with Christchurch Regional Manager Yasa Panagoda, they took the leap, and haven’t looked back since.

Now, 10 years on, those financial struggles are a distant memory. They own their own home, enjoy a steady and reliable income, and have been able to explore both the North and South Islands, as well as travel to Fiji and Australia. They’re also looking at purchasing an investment property in the near future.

With a solid reputation as reliable business owners, Raj and Monisha are looking forward to seeing what the next chapter will bring.
