Christchurch team thrive as the city’s newest carpet cleaning team
When Sharnjit Singh and Mandeep Kaur started their CrestClean franchise in Wellington eight years ago, they were new parents wanting to make the most of those precious early years. With a newborn at home, they were looking for a way to earn a good income while still having plenty of quality time as a family.
CrestClean turned out to be the perfect fit.
Not long into their journey as franchise owners, Sharnjit and Mandeep had saved enough for a deposit on their first home, but they had their hearts set on a large block of land. That kind of space was hard to come by in Wellington, so they started looking further afield. When a friend suggested Christchurch, the decision was surprisingly easy and they made the call to make the move in one day.
Even with the quick turnaround, the transition between cities felt smooth and stress-free, thanks to the support they received from CrestClean.
“We were back up and running in a very short time. It worked well with our family and we’re all very happy,” says Mandeep.
Now four years into life in Christchurch, Sharnjit and Mandeep are thriving. They’ve built their dream home on a spacious section and are surrounded by a caring, supportive community. Best of all, they’ve been able to stay true to their goal of being hands-on parents, with plenty of quality time for their family.
“We have a great community and our kids are surrounded by a positive environment. It’s what all parents want,” says Mandeep.
Determined to keep growing their business, Sharnjit and Mandeep have recently taken their franchise to the next level by becoming Christchurch’s newest carpet cleaning team. With customers in education, office, and industrial sectors, the couple saw an opportunity to offer more value and ensure their business could meet a wide range of cleaning needs.
After completing CrestClean’s specialised two-day carpet cleaning training with expert trainer Mohammed Ashad, Sharnjit and Mandeep were all set to get started. The course covered everything from using the right products to hands-on techniques and best practices.
“He shared all the information and knowledge he had about types of carpet and the consequences of incorrect cleaning,” says Mandeep.
Now fully qualified, Sharnjit and Mandeep are proud to be one of just six CrestClean carpet cleaning teams in Christchurch, and they’re already making a great impression. They recently completed their first carpet clean and were floored by the results!
“After cleaning the carpet, we could see the quality of our cleaning. We felt proud,” says Mandeep.
Sharnjit and Mandeep’s business continues to go from strength to strength. They’ve built strong, lasting relationships with their customers and have a thriving business they’re proud of. Mandeep says it’s the close connections with customers that make their work especially rewarding.
“It feels like a family. Most of the sites we go to, we feel part of the team. We also get great support from CrestClean and it encourages us to give the best we can,” she adds.
