Binoy recognised as Team Member of the Month at Kmart Distribution Centre
Binoy Paily and his dedicated CrestClean teammates Anup Ganesh and Rajesh Choudary Kollu have been an integral part of the Kmart Distribution Centre in Hamilton since it opened in September 2023. The team takes great pride in maintaining the site to an exceptional standard and plays a key role in supporting the wider Kmart staff.
The team’s contributions are especially vital during busy periods like Christmas, when the Distribution Centre operates 24 hours a day to meet demand across all New Zealand stores.
Administration Manager Nichole Gibson says Binoy, Anup, and Rajesh are part of the Kmart family, and makes sure they feel just as valued as every Kmart employee.
“They’re an amazing part of our team. They’re like family to us,” says Nichole.
Binoy, Anup and Rajesh are included in all aspects of staff life, whether it’s a site BBQ or a cultural celebration.
“That’s the kind of culture we like to create here. It doesn’t matter if you’re the cleaner or top management – we are all one,” says Nichole.
Each month, Kmart runs a Kudos programme where departments nominate team members who’ve gone above and beyond. Nominations are written on cards and placed in a box for the monthly Kudos shoutout. Every nominee gets to spin the prize wheel, and from there, the Operations Manager and Site Manager choose one standout individual as the Team Member of the Month.
In April, Binoy was named Team Member of the Month, but Nichole says the whole team deserve recognition.
“They work very hard, and they go over and above for us,” says Nichole.
“There’s nothing they won’t do for us.”
It’s safe to say that Binoy, Anup, and Rajesh are more than just a cleaning team – they’re a valued and appreciated part of the Kmart community.
“We’re very lucky to have the guys here and if they ever leave us, whoever gets them will be lucky to have them.”
