Upskilling brings personal satisfaction as new techniques learned

These CrestClean business owners turned in a polished performance at the end of an upskilling course to learn about floor care.

Becoming a qualified floor specialist broadens the type of work they can now take on and means their customers can benefit as well.

But making the grade requires determination and a strong commitment. The Hamilton personnel showed they have what it takes, says course trainer Praneel Prasad. “They learned a lot from the course. I can see that they now have the confidence to carry out floor work to a high level.”

The course, run by Master Cleaners Training Institute, was delivered at Hamilton Christian School. The venue gave course participants some real experience of the sort of floor they might encounter at a customer’s premises, says Praneel.

Carrying out floor work not only brings in additional income, it brings a feeling of self-satisfaction, he says.

“Floors are really rewarding to work on. When you finish and you see the shine it’s a really good feeling. And of course it makes the customers really happy as well.”

Each year more than 200 training events are run for CrestClean’s franchisees nationwide. Personnel receive annual upskilling and regular auditing is carried out by the company’s quality assurance co-ordinators.
