Nitesh and Poonam celebrate 10 years of business success and adventure
Nitesh and Poonam Naicker have just celebrated 10 years as CrestClean franchisees! What began as a way to earn a little extra income has turned into a thriving business and a lifestyle they love.
The couple first heard about CrestClean from North Harbour Regional Manager Neil Kumar, a family friend and former franchisee. Hearing Neil talk about the opportunities and success that came with owning a franchise sparked their interest.
“We thought it sounded like something we could do for a side income, but it ended up working out really well for us,” says Nitesh.
Starting with a modest turnover, Nitesh and Poonam steadily grew their customer base and expanded their working hours. Today, their franchise provides a significant second income… and some unexpected perks.
“It keeps us nice and healthy. We don’t have to pay to go to a gym to work out,” Nitesh laughs.
Working side by side has also brought them closer together, and being part of the CrestClean network has introduced them to lots of new friends. Nitesh says the support from other franchisees has been amazing, with many always happy to share advice and ideas. One of Auckland’s longest-standing franchisees, Kamal Jeet Singh, trained them when they first started and is still a trusted mentor today.
“Everyone is very helpful – it’s great. We catch up quite regularly. It’s like being part of a big family,” says Nitesh.
Hard work has definitely paid off for the Naickers. Within just two years, they had saved enough from their franchise income to buy their first home. It was a goal they wanted to achieve quickly, and thanks to the extra income, they reached it even faster than expected.
One of their most exciting achievements has been the ability to see the world. Since joining CrestClean, Nitesh and Poonam have visited 38 countries across North America, South America, and Asia. Europe is already on the list for 2026.
“If you work hard, you can play hard,” says Nitesh.
Above all, the couple is grateful for the ongoing support from Auckland Regional Manager Dries Mangnus, who has been their biggest champion since day one. Nitesh appreciates having someone to turn to for help at the drop of a hat.
