Morning tea welcome gives Sumeet and Ashmita a warm start at new school

South Canterbury franchise owners Sumeet Kishore and Ashmita Singh have recently started a new cleaning role at Pleasant Point St Joseph’s School, and they’re already feeling like part of the team.

They began in mid-July and to help them settle in, South Canterbury Regional Manager Rob Glenie did what he always does when introducing a new cleaning team to a school – he put on a morning tea to help them all get to know each other.

“As part of starting a new school I like to put on morning tea and introduce the teachers to our amazing franchise teams so they can become part of the school quickly,” says Rob.

The morning tea was provided by Café Time in Ashburton, who everyone agreed made the best club sammies in town.

The warm welcome made all the difference. Although it’s early days, Sumeet and Ashmita say they already feel at home on site and have built some great connections with the staff.

“It was great meeting them first. It definitely made a difference because we got to know the team,” says Ashmita.

Rob also suggested the school run CrestClean’s Cleanest Classroom competition. This is a fun and friendly way to encourage students to keep their spaces tidy. Sumeet and Ashmita have taken it in stride and are already keeping an eye out for this term’s top contenders.

“We’ve started observing and you can definitely see the difference,” says Ashmita.

Sumeet and Ashmita have owned their CrestClean franchise for almost three years now. Before that, they were both working at the freezing works in Oamaru. Moving into business ownership was a big step, but they say it’s brought a lot of positive change.

“We have the flexibility and freedom to plan our commitments around our work,” says Ashmita.

They first discovered CrestClean through a post on Facebook, which sparked their interest. After doing their homework and talking to a colleague who was already a franchisee, they felt confident it was the right move.

“Sumeet did a lot of research before we decided to buy a franchise. When he had all the information he needed, it solidified the move.”

Having Rob’s support has made everything that much easier. Knowing he’s just a phone call away gives them peace of mind. With great customers and a strong support network behind them, Sumeet and Ashmita say their experience as franchisees has been nothing but positive.

“We’re having a really good time with CrestClean – we’ve had no problems whatsoever.”
