School has surprise gift for franchisee
Going the extra mile for her customers is something Michelle Lockhart prides herself in.
She loves working at Motueka South School where she and her husband Ross share the cleaning duties on Monday to Friday each week.
So the Nelson franchisee didn’t have to think twice about donning her CrestClean uniform on a Saturday to clean up after a school disco.
The school’s Deputy Principal Linda Beatson praised Michelle for stepping in to help.
“After the recent school disco, a student had smuggled in a confetti gun, which resulted in a huge mess,” Linda said.
“Even though staff and the Parent-Teacher Association had done a quick clean after the event, the floor was still speckled with confetti.
“Michelle said ‘No problem!’ and cheerily spent the extra time needed to thoroughly clean the carpet.”
Linda says school staff always appreciate Michelle’s friendliness and professionalism in carrying out her cleaning duties.
“As a sign of appreciation for going ‘over and above’ her job description, we presented Michelle with a special thanks card and a bottle of her favourite wine to enjoy off duty.
“Michelle does a great job and always in a quiet, unobtrusive way, whilst also being friendly with all staff.”
Michelle says she was “blown away” by the school’s gift and thank you card. “I wasn’t expecting anything at all. I thought it was absolutely awesome that they acknowledged my good work like that.”
She says working at the school is a real pleasure. “The school has a really lovely vibe and I enjoy going into work there.”
Barbara de Vries, CrestClean’s Nelson Regional Manager, was delighted. “It’s always great to get feedback from our customers and know that our teams are doing a really good job,” she said.
