CrestClean understands school cleaning. We have been a major provider of school cleaning services since 1996 and have over 600 customers, including primary, intermediate and secondary schools throughout New Zealand.
‘Consistency’ is the word that sums up what we believe schools need most from their cleaning provider. That means a consistent level of cleaning, a consistent level of account management and term cleans performed consistently to the required standard on time.
Average staff turnover in the New Zealand cleaning industry ranges between 70% and 120% annually. For long-established institutions and schools that require reliable veteran staff, this raises issues with security and Health and Safety compliance.
We’re known as New Zealand’s best-educated school cleaners — all our personnel undertake formal training programmes including practical cleaning training, proficiency assessments and annual upskilling throughout their CrestClean careers. Our personnel are trained by The Master Cleaners Training Institute, a respected training organisation that has delivered internationally recognised programmes including courses accredited by the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc).
At CrestClean, our average tenure is more than five years, which means our personnel have made a career choice and are sticking with it. They’re trained industry experts who have financially invested in their own businesses and know that maintaining excellent customer relationships is critical to their success.
More than 500 CrestClean cleaners have gained the BICSc Professional Skills Suite Certificate. This course was validated by an NZQA accredited Industry Training Organisation that moderated our course content. Each year we host more than 200 training events for our personnel nationwide. We’ve invested in comprehensive training for all personnel which covers cleaning skills and processes, Health and Safety, and hygienic practices.
But it’s important we get the best grades from you — feedback is requested through routine Customer Quality Surveys and our Regional Master Franchisees audit our cleaning equipment and personnel biannually to ensure consistency and quality standards are being met.
Employing cleaners directly creates a management headache by having to supervise staff performance and deal with issues like absenteeism. It also exposes the school to risk with Employment Relations issues. Legal processes can make it extremely difficult to get rid of a worker who is not performing.
CrestClean’s cleaning services operate under a contract negotiated with the school. As part of our proposal and quotation we prepare a detailed specification of the duties to be performed. The specification forms the basis of the contract – it includes all cleaning, chemicals and cleaning equipment. The contractual relationship allows the school to organise the cleaning programme in a businesslike manner, and maintain a fixed cost financial control with the cleaning operating to a budget as per the contract.
CrestClean is responsible for making sure that the cleaning service operates in accordance with the contract. If the school is unhappy with the service or with the personnel, changes can be made. Because CrestClean’s personnel are self-employed, we are not bound by employment regulations, and changes can be made promptly at the school’s request.
We endeavour to build long-term relationships with our school customers. Our franchisees become valuable ‘team members’ taking good care of the cleaning and hygiene and contributing to the smooth running of the school. Our contract cleaning services include full site management. We take care of school hygiene and presentation requirements without the headaches of supervision or the Employment Relations issues of employing cleaners directly.
Standardised Cleaning Systems
CrestClean’s standardised cleaning systems create hygienic outcomes at every cleaning service.
Our cleaning teams use the latest equipment and are professionally trained to clean competently to the prescribed specifications.
Cleaning is conducted to high standards with strict hygiene protocols.
HyperClean® Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaner
HyperClean® is a powerful cleaner that cleans and removes biofilm from hard surfaces.
Hydrogen Peroxide oxidises on contact with soiled surfaces, providing an aggressive cleaning action. It breaks down into water and oxygen, so it’s safe for users and the environment.
Sanitising Service for high-touch surfaces
Sanitising high-touch surfaces improves school hygiene. We use a 2-step process where surfaces are first cleaned to remove soil and biofilm build-up, and then sanitiser is applied.
The service is carried out at agreed frequencies i.e. daily, 3 x weekly, or weekly, in addition to our standard cleaning services.
Our Anti-Viral Sanitiser is officially rated against coronavirus.
Formulation HWS-64 (LONZA)
*Registered by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a disinfectant qualified for use against COVID-19.
Our cleaning systems meet the recommended ‘cleaning against coronavirus’ protocols.
Systemised Cleaning Processes
Our teams are trained to follow step-by-step ‘safe systems of work’ to perform cleaning tasks. These processes ensure that our customers receive consistent quality and hygienic outcomes at each cleaning service.
Colour coded microfibre cloths are used to prevent cross-contamination
Consumables and Hygiene Supplies
Through our partnership with Alsco, we provide a large range of consumable products, hygiene services and rental equipment. Upgrading personal hygiene amenities sets the scene for creating a cleaner school environment.
MBIE’s New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) has now launched the new All-of-Government (AoG) Generation 3 (Gen 3) Office Supplies contract.
