CrestClean’s six-monthly vehicle audit for its South Canterbury franchisees was an occasion to mix business with pleasure.

The company’s regional manager Robert Glenie was pleased with attendances at Timaru and Ashburton, where vehicles were checked over during the separate audits.

Robert was particularly pleased at the enthusiasm shown by his Timaru teams. “We had an amazing turnout, with some franchisees arriving early for a chat with other franchise owners,” he says.

CrestClean’s owner-operator vehicle fleet is audited regularly to ensure individuals meet compliance guidelines as part of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.

During the rigorous series of checks, equipment is also inspected to ensure it is clean and correctly stored and fit for purpose.

“At these audits we not only check equipment and vehicles are compliant but also check health and safety records and employment records to help give franchisees the confidence they are operating their CrestClean business correctly,” says Robert.

CrestClean’s expanding presence in South Canterbury posed a logistical problem for Robert.

“With business growing so rapidly in Ashburton, we faced a couple of issues when it came to vehicle audit time and finding a carpark large enough to accommodate all the vehicles,” he said.

“Being Mid-Canterbury and the sudden spell of hot spring weather, we had to be mindful of finding enough shade to ensure people could stay cool while waiting.”

He was pleased with the turnout in Ashburton. “We have had three new teams join us this year and this means three new vans on the road displaying the CrestClean name around town.

“Teams are always proud to show off their vans and demonstrate to each other how they keep their equipment clean and tidy.”
