New technology makes polished concrete floors shine
Investing in modern technology is one of the best business decisions Patel Varun has made.
The Auckland West franchisee, who has been with Crest for three years, purchased an auto scrubber machine to help him clean polished floors.
Patel looks after a customer in Glenfield where most of the premises’ floor area is polished concrete.
National Quality/Training Manager Chris Chapman says after meeting with Patel, they discovered the mop method of cleaning was not productive.
“In order to work smarter Patel needed to look at how he could reduce his labour and improve the end result,” he says. “Keeping the concrete clean and shiny is a long process using a mop and bucket, then you have to squeegee the floor area dry to ensure no marks or streaks are left behind.”
Patel purchased an auto scrubber machine. The machine is a cost effective and a productive method of cleaning and drying concrete floors.
As a result, Patel now gets labour savings and superior cleaning results in a third of the time it took to mop.
“It is much better,” Patel says. “There are no more marks or streaks. This machine is so useful for large floor areas. Innovation plays a big part in the cleaning industry.”
Patel has also purchased a high speed burnisher to replace weekly buffing.
“Anyone serious about running a successful business needs to think about working smarter not harder. The cleaning industry is labour intensive and using innovation helps you run a successful business,” Chris says.
