Rotorua and Taupō teams honour Franchisee of the Year at Christmas party
Rotorua and Taupō franchise teams recently got together for a wonderful Christmas celebration at House of Spice, a restaurant owned by a Tauranga-based franchisee. The event brought together approximately 45 attendees, including franchisees and their families, for an evening of delicious food and festive fun.
The team was joined by Regional Master Franchisee Jan Lichtwark, Quality Assurance Co-ordinator Woo-Sung Lee and Operations Manager Pinakin Patel. House of Spice served up a delicious meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with franchisees in a casual setting and to meet many of their family members for the first time,” says Jan.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Franchisee of the Year award for the region, which was awarded to Sandeep Singh. Jan says Sandeep’s contributions to the region have been invaluable.
“Sandeep has been an asset to the region. He’s a great communicator with a high standard of work, and he’s always willing to help. He’s grown his business and even secured his own $51,000 contract.”
Rotorua-based Sandeep Singh has owned a CrestClean franchise for six years now. He was pleasantly surprised to be named Franchise of the Year at the Christmas party, where his hard work was acknowledged in front of his peers.
“It was great to be recognised for the hard work I’ve done,” he says.
Before joining CrestClean, Sandeep worked as an assistant manager at a Z Energy fuel station. He enjoyed connecting with customers and noticed that those wearing CrestClean uniforms always seemed happier than the others.
He decided to purchase a franchise of his own, and within three years, he had achieved the major milestone of purchasing his first home.
“I often wonder why I didn’t buy a franchise earlier,” he laughs.
Over the years, Sandeep has consistently upskilled to meet the needs of his customers. As a CrestClean induction trainer for the past three years, he has helped new franchisees succeed. He has also expanded his services to include carpet and floor cleaning, which have helped his business grow. Whenever his customers request a carpet clean, Sandeep throws in a complimentary upholstery clean.
“I go the extra mile for all my customers,” he says.
Sandeep has been extremely determined since he started his business. One of his most significant achievements came when he secured a major contract with Timberlands Forest Management Services. This didn’t happen by chance – Sandeep spent months going door to door, introducing himself to potential customers and leaving his business card.
Eventually, his persistence paid off and Timberlands offered him a contract. Today, Sandeep is responsible for maintaining their large office space, which takes him six hours to clean. With his high standard of service, the staff at Timberlands know they made the right choice when they took on Sandeep.
“They tell me I’m doing great work there and it gives me the motivation to keep going the extra mile,” he says.
“I don’t miss anything. If I need to spend extra time on a clean, it doesn’t matter. I work according to my customers’ satisfaction.”
Sandeep’s dedication to building meaningful connections is evident in his bond with his customers at Te Kura o Te Koutu, where he feels like a valued member of the school community.
“The principal tells me I’m like a staff member there. Every two months they have a staff party, and they always invite me,” he says.
“Relationships are everything.”
Sandeep speaks highly of Jan and attributes much of his success to the support he receives from him.
“He’s the man. If I want work, he gives me work,” he says
“I could see how happy everyone was at the Christmas party and that’s because of Jan.”
“Jan, Woo-Sung and Pinakin – they are the team.”
