TVH celebrates 15-year partnership with CrestClean’s Vijay Nand
Vijay Nand is a familiar face at TVH, and for good reason. For the past 15 years, he’s been more than just their cleaning provider – he’s become part of the TVH family. TVH is one of Vijay’s first customers as a CrestClean franchisee and he’s developed a special bond with the people there.
TVH is a worldwide supplier of quality parts and accessories for material handling, industrial vehicles and agricultural equipment. Vijay plays a vital role in maintaining that environment, keeping the offices, kitchen, and bathrooms spotless.
Vijay and TVH Managing Director Brendan Chillingworth have worked together since Vijay started cleaning TVH. Over this time, they’ve become close friends, prompting Brendan to surprise Vijay with a gift to mark his 15-year milestone.
Branch Manager, Toni Vermuelen, says it’s a pleasure to have Vijay around.
“He goes around and sees everybody. He keeps us up to date and even shows us photos of his children and we do the same with him,” says Toni.
“He’s very pleasant to have around. He is an extension of us and part of the family.”
Vijay’s been coming in every Wednesday afternoon for 15 years. Although these are his regular hours, Toni says he’s always happy to go the extra mile if the need arises.
“He always goes out of his way. If we had a function on or something, we can swap his days around and he’s always so accommodating,” she says.
During a recent COVID outbreak in the building, Vijay went the extra mile, cleaning outside of his regular hours to ensure a safe environment for staff to return. Going above and beyond is second nature to Vijay, and Toni greatly appreciates his dependable nature.
“If there’s anything extra that we ever need done, he’ll always do it,” she says.
For management staff at TVH, having trust in contractors is highly valued. Toni emphasises their complete trust in Vijay, stating they’ve never had any concerns about his reliability.
“He’s here while we’re here and he’ll continue after we’ve left. We’ve got complete trust in him. We have a gate that needs to stay closed, and he’s never left it open, so we can trust him to come in on the weekend on his own.”
Vijay’s friendly personality and meticulous work ethic make him an invaluable asset to TVH. Despite being approached by other cleaning companies, Toni feels there is no substitute for Vijay.
“We’ve had plenty of companies offering to quote but it’s not about price for us, it’s the fact that Vijay is an extension of us. Unless he moved, we wouldn’t move companies,” says Toni.
“He’s very much part of the family. We don’t want to lose him, that’s for sure!”
