Awards recognise team’s dedication during COVID-19 pandemic
They worked tirelessly to ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness were maintained as the country was in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic.
Now members of CrestClean’s Invercargill COVID-19 response team have been officially thanked for their commitment to the job.
Glenn Cockroft, CrestClean’s Invercargill Regional Manager, presented Certificates of Excellence to Kim Jin, Vanessa Potot and Marlene Madrid. The awards, in recognition of their exceptional service, are each signed by the company’s managing director Grant McLauchlan.
Throughout the Alert Level 4 lockdown period and beyond, the team worked late into the night cleaning the city’s COVID-19 testing centre.
“The centre was thoroughly cleaned and sanitised every night to ensure the safety of all the medical staff and those being tested,” says Glenn. “They provided a full pandemic clean of the centre.”
All three of them were also involved in providing full pandemic cleans to a number of other customer’s buildings following the presence of a person who subsequently tested positive for the virus.
Vanessa said although they were a little apprehensive at first, they soon realised that the extensive training they had all received through the Master Cleaners Training Institute meant they were fully prepared for the specialist work.
In presenting the awards, Glenn said he was exceptionally proud of all of his teams in Southland. “But these three just stood out with their commitment, not only to the company but to their customers and the people of Southland.”
The presentation was sealed with one of Southland’s best hot chocolate drinks at Mecca Expresso in Tay Street.
