Nitij puts training before his special birthday
Franchisee Nitij Maharaj couldn’t believe his eyes when CrestClean laid on a sweet surprise to mark his milestone birthday.
Nitij was attending a Module 2 Assessment course in Dunedin when Master Cleaners Training Institute’s Rachael Hannah turned up to surprise him with a special birthday cake.
The reaction of Nitij and his mum Rozley, who was also at the event, was amazing, said Adam Hodge, CEO of Master Cleaners Training Institute.
“He and his mother were blown away, it was totally unexpected and a really nice touch. Everyone got to enjoy a slice of cake and celebrate with Nitij.”
Rachael, Crest’s Training Co-ordinator, had been tipped off about Nitij’s special birthday.
“The cake and thought were very much appreciated by everyone there and made for a very enjoyable morning tea,” added Adam.
The fact that Nitij had attended the assessment rather than take the day off to mark his birthday was testament to his work ethic, said Adam.
“It just shows how committed he is to the business and to CrestClean.
“To come for assessment on your 21st birthday shows great commitment and professionalism. And this was reflected on the assessment result as Nitij and his mother were awarded the MCTI Certificate in Commercial Cleaning.”
The two-day course covers Health and Safety and a number of core tasks. Franchisees also have to demonstrate competency in numerous practical tasks.
“The course was well received and people worked hard to achieve the required standard,” said Adam.
The Master Cleaners Training Institute aims to raise industry standards by equipping Crest personnel with practical cleaning skills and knowledge of the processes and procedures.
