Upskilling course taken in their stride

When franchisees upskilling their cleaning skills took a well-earned break they found the perfect picturesque backdrop to charge up their caffeine levels.
New Plymouth’s Kawero Park Tennis and Squash Club not only has an idyllic oceanside setting, its facilities also provide a realistic venue, said Master Cleaners Training Institute CEO Adam Hodge.
Adam said those attending the course had impressed him. “Their equipment was very good and their approach to cleaning was excellent.
“They carried out all of the tasks asked of them. They were nice to work with and they were proficient and worked as a team.”
Adam said finding the right training venue was essential. “We try to ensure it is a realistic facility and the sort of place they will find themselves cleaning in the future.”
The Module 1 course is run through the Master Cleaners Training Institute in conjunction with CrestClean. The training course aims to raise industry standards by equipping personnel with skills, knowledge and NZQA recognised qualifications.
“Health and safety is a big part of this course,” said Adam. “We aim to cover nine to 10 core skills. It’s an important course and people get a lot out of it.”
Adam said he’d had great comments from course participants.
“When I get good feedback I know I’ve done a good job. You can see that people get a renewed enthusiasm after attending the course.”
Taranaki Regional Manager Prasun Acharya says franchisees enjoyed the training days.

Equipment and materials were on hand for every situation during the training session.
